Diggin Allotment Day Picture Book
On Sunday 23 September Tom, Phil and Peter invited other allotment holders at Glen Allotments in York to join them for a free barbecue in exchange for a few hours digging.  These photos show the day in pictures as it unfolded.  Thanks to Inclusion North for the Small Sparks funding to get the day off the ground and thanks to Mr Laverack who has not been able to use his allotment this year and gave permission to set the babecue up on his plot.

Peter has discovered some red cabbage hiding in amongst the weeds.  By the end of the day the area of grass and the area under the black plastic had been dug and forked over to remove wick roots and bindweed.

A lot has been achieved today, new friendships cemented  and an enjoyable day helped the lads get their plot into a lot tidier state ready for winter.
